I get asked regularly about a picture I posted at the start of the year showing my remote set up.

I figured I'd break it down. 

No matter what anyone says, the user experience for the prospect matters.

If it looks like you’re using a potato for a camera and the audio is sketchy, it won’t help you chances of closing the deal.

When I first went on the road, I was worried about the quality of my calls going down.

I did a lot of research, this is my winning combination.

Mac Stand

I didn’t want to lug around another camera, and I didn’t want the client experience where I’m looking down at them, or they’re looking up at my chin(s).

Microphone

I needed lightweight and quality. According to all reviews (including mine now), this mic is the best. It’s also incredibly cheap.

The bendable legs are a gift for placement of the Mic. You can sit it just about anywhere, depending on needs.

Monitor

This is a little gem of a monitor.

The best part? You don’t need anything other than a USB C cable (included) to power it.

Right Light

The unpredictable part of airbnb’s is lighting.

I found I would either be too lit, too dark, or I’d have half and half.

A cheap ring light fixed all that.

Right Light Stand

I currently use a combination of a Rode tripod and a PGYTech extender, but the smart folks at PGY have gone and made them together.

The reason you need this is to make sure the right light can get up and over the mac on the stand.

Keyboard & Mouse

I stayed basic with these.

I just used the apple keyboard and mouse.
